Believe it or not, you don’t need a large sum of money to get started trading in the stock market. You can start trading stocks for less than $20 here’s how.
You can literally look up in Google, stocks that have traded on NYSE or NASDAQ for less than $20 or go to Google finance and use a filter to only find stocks that are less than $20 a share. Then go to a broker and buy a share of that stock. Sounds crazy but that’s how Warren Buffett started. He bought one single share of one single stock. What he did after that is how he made his billions. But he started with that, and that’s the key just to start trading. There are so many more resources out there today available to get into the stock market that Warren didn’t have, but yet he started.
You don’t have to risk thousands of dollars to get started trading stocks in the stock market. You just need enough to buy a share. About a year ago I bought a stock that was about a dollar a share, it was MUX listed on the NYSE. I put in enough to purchase 25 shares, that stock then proceeds to almost triple over the next six months, and to be completely honest, I did it just to check out a new trading platform called Robin Hood, a commission free broker.
I actually forgot about the stock and decided to go back in and look at it about 3 months into the trade and realized it had gone up quite a bit and since it was only roughly $25 at stake, I let it ride for a total of 6 months and the stock nearly tripled.
Now I know you’re thinking hey dummy that’s only $50 profit over 6 months. But the hurtful truth of that is, I made more in that six months than I did in my first 6 months of actively trading. When I started I felt like I had to trade all the time jumping in and out of stocks and spending a ridiculous amount of money on commissions that when you added everything up, I lost money over 6 months despite my “big” wins.
But this isn’t the point of this article. The is to show it’s worth only taking a little bit of money just so you can get started. You might actually do better than diving in and going crazy and spending a ton of time researching and trading stocks you should not be trading.
Now you might be saying but still that’s only $50 profit for 6 months, that sucks. Well if I said to you “hey give me $25 and in 6 months I’ll give you $75” and then at the end of the 6 months I give you $75, would you say hey that return rate sucks I don’t want it? No? Didn’t think so.
This example isn’t to show you that it takes years to make money, honestly you get out of it what you put in. But it’s to show you that it’s possible to easily get into the stock market and actually make money trading stocks and give you the confidence to go do it.
You don’t need to be an expert to get started, you just need to know where to go to get started. I have an email course here that is completely free and will teach you exactly what you need to know about how to start trading stocks.
